Poppy Seed Challenge #1

 

Thanks to Michelle who commented on my PTI Blog Entry and said: "Your card is gorgeous! That yellow flower really pops! You did a great job paper piecing your image. Just add some bling and consider entering this into Lisa Johnson's new challenge."  I have taken her suggestion and added three rhinostones on the card base in the flower stamens.  I love to re-purpose thing in my life and this is the ultimate in re-purposing.

Compose a Card Challenge #5

Following Becky's template I used PTI's Aquamist, Pure Poppy, and White cardstock.  The stamps I used were all PTI: Polka Dot Basics, Giga Guidelines, and Background Basics: Text Style.

 

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

 

The Giga image was stamped with Ocean Tides, as was the background text.  I cut the stamped image out with Nestibilities Square dies and then added a Pure Poppy button.

February Blog Hop with PTI

 

My inspiration came for all the designers and the anniversary contest to create embellies.  I am soooooo ready for spring that I decide to create some button embellies in spring colors.  

This is Dawn's embellishement example:

 

Some the buttons are cardstock or pattern paper adhered to chipboard and then cut with Sizzix and other are real buttons.  I can't wait to add these to my spring, Easter, and Mother's Day cards.

PTI's February Blog Hop

Tonight is PaperTrey's monthly blog hop.  My inspiration came from several of the designers when using the Violet stamp set. 

Here's Debbie Olson's pieced violet:

I have long wanted to start coloring with Copic markers and have even purchased some but not really done much with them before now.  I also love how paper piecing is one of current trends so I did a mix of these two techniques.

I used the Friend till the End stamp set.  One of my favorites I must say.  I pieced the flower, sorta - I stamped the flower on Bitty Polka Dot paper and stamped a background from Background Basic Retro for the flower's center.

I colored the leaves with the Copics.  I strategically placed most of the leaves behind the flowers.

The background stamping I saw on one of Nicki Estes card when searching for coloring inspirations.  Thanks Nicki for letting me scraplift.

Compose a Card Challenge #4

My sister and I decided to play along with Becky Ohlers' Compose a Card Challenge.  Find the details at Becky's site: http://hemidemisemiquaverdesignblog.com/

 

This was quite the challenge for me.  I love the color combination but stamping a negative image is the challenging part.  The issue is I want solid coverage and I seldom get the coverage I would like with negative stamps.  I hope you enjoy my card.

 

One tip: I didn't have matching pearls and rhinestones so I colored them with a Copic marker.

I also did a little stamping on the inside of the card.
