Second post for the evening...a new record (LOL). My blog buddy (my sister Jessica) and I combined our efforts this weekend to make a card for our Dad for Father's Day.
Now that Dad's retired, he has developed a passion for wood working so we used PTI's woodgrain impression plate on the gray background and used Momento London Fog to highlight the raised woodgrain. And, since he had worked with cars his entire career, we used PTI's Enjoy the Ride stamp for the focal point.
Noticed we added glossy accents to the headlights, used a silver paint pen on the bumper, and drew the horizontal lines from the stamped sentiment.
For the interior of the card, we combined various stamps to create the message.
Here are the details:
Paper: PTI's Stamper Select White and Pure Poppy, and SU's Going Gray or Basic Gray
Ink: Momento's London Fog, VersaFine Onyx Black, and ColorBox Queue Lipstick Red
Stamps: PTI's Enjoy the Ride and Father Knows Best, DAD built from JustRite Stamp's Alphabet in Times New Roman, and Craft Lounge Big Thanks
Other: PTI's Woodgrain Impression Plate, silver paint pen, markers, and Glossy Accents.
We think this card is a perfect fit for our Dad and will show him how much with love him. Make sure you send your love and hugs to your dad this upcoming Father's Day!!
Thanks for check us out,
Monica and Jessica
PS: Just got Fiskar's Compact Stamp Press on Jennifer McGuire's recommendation and used it to align the car and sentiment stamps perfectly onto the white paper and was able to stamp just once. We are LOVING it--aligns wonderfully when using two part stamps. Watch for a future post highlighting some examples. Easy Peasy!!
