Embellish Color Challenge using Background Stamping

I have totally been on a bookmark/tag kick lately so this was just another opportunity to make a bookmark.  The challenge is to use White, Black, Gray, and Yellow with Background stamping.  If you want to check out the challenge here's a link.

I cut my bookmark using my Cricut and a file I created using SureCutsAlot out of the Going Gray card stock.  I also cut a "tag shoulder" out of the Basic Gray card stock but didn't adhere it until the end.  I stamped the bookmark with my background text in Going Gray ink.  I then set it aside to dry and worked on the sentiment.

I cut the label with the die, stamped the sentiment and added the two nail heads.  Now I moved back to the bookmarked and stamped the flowers and heat embossed with white.  Now it's time for assembly.  I attached dark "shoulder" and two yellow reinforcement rings to the bookmark.  Found just the right spot for my sentiment and then tied the black ribbon.

Here's the finished product.  Thanks for stopping by the blog and checking out my bookmark.  I hope you play along with the Embellish Challenge.

PTI September Blog Hop

For PTI's September Blog Hop, we were asked to incorporate a skill or technique that we "scrap-lifted" from one of the many friendly, helpful scrappers out there that love to share their know how.  It was indeed a challenge to limit my homage to just one but I finally narrowed it down.  For this hop, I channeled Mish Mash.  I really admire the way she pulls her supplies together before she starts, limits her materials to something less than her entire inventory, and then PRODUCES.  One of her recent posts (here) was right on point!!  She is so prolific--something to aspire to!!

I started by grabbing my sketch book and very quickly drew the concept for the card.  I pulled out my Basic Grey Ambrosia 6X6 deck, added coordinating PTI solid cardstock, felts, and the dies I wanted to use.  I created this set of cards--what do you think?

I pushed myself to use many different pieces.  It may be a bit of overkill but the more I look at the finished product, the more I like the results.  Here are a few different shots of the individual cards.  Note that I used PTI's envelop liner die and scraps of a 12X12 version of one of the pages from the Ambrosia set (the image is the same but the scale is different).

Hope you enjoy the cards and the Blog Hop!  Thanks for hopping by...

Monica

Embellish Color Challenge with Paper Piecing

This is my entry for Embellish's paper piecing challenge.  The colors used are kraft, light and dark green, and yellow.

The dress form is stamped on cream cardstock and pieced with polka dot paper (green paper stamped with Versamark) for the top and a soft yellow with a subtle pattern for the skirt.

The sentiment is stamped on a kraft double ended tag that I trim down and double matted with another of the same tags cut from cream.

Thanks for stopping by the blog,

Monica

Embellish Color Challenge with Squares

I thought I would play along with the current Embellish Challenge.  The colors are green, purple, and black using squares.

The colors are straight forward.  I incorporated the squares by cutting a square in the black cardstock and  with the impression plate used on the black.

A fun purple flower with solid and pattern paper with gems.  The center gem I had the others I colored using a Copic marker.

Green is found on the ribbon by stamping a sentiment in green ink and with the button.

(Sorry for the glare on the ribbon)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the card.
