hOWLo

This is a fairly literal interpretation of the challenge but I must say I am very pleased with the results. I smile whenever I look at the card.

The owl was cut form PTI’s dark chocolate, vintage cream, and melon berry papers. The chest panel was stamped using PTI’s Background Basics Retro with melon berry ink. His pupils are PTI’s dark chocolate buttons.

The owl is mounted with dimensions on PTI’s 2008 Bitty Box Basics in Spring Moss, then on Cosmo Crickett’s Earth Love-Reuse. Corners were rounded using We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Card-Kreator’s A7 Standard card template was used to make the card base in PTI’s dark chocolate. The letters were cut from PTI’s vintage cream card stock which had been stamped with their Basic Basic Text Style in Craft Smarts chocolate brown ink using Cricut Expression’s Plantin Schoolhouse.

I hope he makes you smile too!

Holiday Notes

Inspired by Mish Mash’s note pads, I bought a set of 5”X8” notepads at my local office supply store and had them cut in half.

Using Nicole’s Notepad Pocket Cover Template, I cut the cover from Hobby Lobby Kraft paper and adhered the note pad to the inside of the cover and secured the pocket using Scor-Tape.

I cut two strips of Bazzill’s Christmas Cardstock in Pomegranate and mounted them on the front and back of the cover. Using scraps from last year’s Christmas cards, I adhered panels of the pattern paper (Cosmo Crickett’s Be Good: Ribbons), sandwiching a length of narrow cream ribbon from my stash to be used as a closure.

I stamped a snow flake from SU’s Scandanavian Christmas (I believe this set is retired) using VersaMagic Dew Drop in Ocean Depth and mounted it on a scallop of the pomegranate cut with Spellbinders scalloped circle. The elongated tag and the letters were cut using Cricut Expression’s Plantin Schoolhouse from PTI’s Ocean Tides and Bazzill’s Promegranate, respectively.

I know I’ll enjoy using the lovely pad to make various notations and lists this upcoming holiday season.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge # 18 (2nd Edition)

I chose PTI’s Vintage Ornaments to showcase the colors in Dawn’s latest challenge. I used PTI’s paper in Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, and Raspberry Fizz and their New Leaf grosgrain ribbon along with kraft twine from Hobby Lobby.

The foundation of the card was cut using a #10 standard business envelop card template from Card-Kreator. I embossed the dark chocolate with Cuttlebug’s Snowflake embossing folder and cut it using Spellbinder’s long rectangle. The ornament was made from raspberry fizz and the snow cap was cut from vintage cream then adorned with glitter. The sentiment was from PTI’s Signature Christmas.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge # 18

Although I used Dawn’s color challenge for my recent entry on PTI’s October Blog Hop, here is my official entry. While fairly traditional in the use of the color, it fits my design esthetics.

The papers used are all from PTI—vintage cream, dark chocolate, raspberry fizz, and new leaf. Inks are PTI’s new leaf, Versamark, and a pink from my stash. The ribbon is my nod to kraft and is Martha Stewart’s seam binding in putty.

The card foundation was cut using Card Kreator’s A7 standard greeting card template. The brown was cut to fit the top of the card and the bottom edge trimmed using Fiskars Uppercrest punch. The flowers and leaves were stamped using PTI’s Friends Til The End and were mounted on a piece of vintage cream. The ribbon tag was cut using a die from Spellbinders.

Hope you enjoy!!!

Embellish the Cure

My sister trained and ran in her first 5K race in this fall’s Race for the Cure. She completed the race with a great time, running under an 11 minute mile. Our generous neighbor brought a donation over—unsolicited!

When Embellish posted this challenge, I knew I wanted to use the ribbon racer as the focal point to create a Thank You card for our neighbor. I used a 5.5” x 12” strip of dark grey from an old SEI collection (Savvy) to create a tri-fold card. The window was cut using Spellbinder’s large rectangle. The ribbon racer was cut from PTI’s raspberry fizz and was sandwiched between two layers of vellum. The sentiment is from PTI’s Damask Designs (with “so much” masked) and was stamped on PTI’s Sweet Blush cut using Spellbinders ribbon tag with the ends trimmed. I stamped the linked circles from PTI’s Faux Ribbon in Versamark to align the clear rhinestones.

I think it will make a great Thank You card for our neighbor while celebrating my sister’s accomplishment. Way to go to them both!

PTI's October Blog Hop

The challenge was to create anything holiday using at least one PTI product. I chose to combine this with Dawn McVey’s Raspberry Suite #18 color challenge.

One-sie Circled

This entries is for Embellish’s Circle Card Challenge

The card began with a 5 inch scallop cut from PaperTrey Ink's (PTI) Spring Moss and adhered to a white circle card. The one-sie was cut from PTI’s Spring Rain using a free SVG file, adding blue button brads from my stash. Using a white gel pen I added the stitching to both the one-sie and the scallop and wrote “Hello Baby!” on PTI’s Dark Chocolate. I rounded the corners with the Memory Makers Corner Chomper, added a length of PTI’s white satin ribbon and a green flower button from PTI tied off with DMC brown floss.
