Embellish Color Challenge with Labels

Hello.  It's been awhile since my last post.  I've been working on various cards and have several to load and write up but tonight I want to share my Embellish Challenge entry.

The challenge featured yellow, coral, and brown using labels.  For details go here.

You were to use labels and since the sponsor was Waltzing Mouse stamps, I used their Vintage Labels No. 4 stamp and Spellbinders Labels 4 die.

Congrats to Deb and Janet

I needed to make cards for two of my friends who completed the Country Music Half Marathon Saturday.  They both did great and the weather was so bad that the race ended early.  I'm so proud of them both especially since I started training with them and gave up about half way through.  Here's the cards:

Both cards where simple to make and each was inspired by two designers.  The one with Argyle from Lisa Johnson during PTI's April release, the Sweet 16 card.  The second with Friend's till the End flower from Melissa Bickford who has done a couple of post with these colors and simple images, Butterfly Thanks and Just Because.

PTI's April blog hop - Monica

After reading PTI's Blog Hop challenge with  focus on tissue paper I immediately knew I wanted to make a ruffle.  And I wanted to incorporate their new Argyle products.

Here are the results:

Note the touch of argyle on the corner of the envelope.

Here's a close up of the card's focal point; isn't it pretty than a 1st Place ribbon at the county fair?  I like the way the saddle-stitch on the ribbon mimics the dash lines in the argyle.  Just a touch of Fresh Snow ink on the impressed argyle really makes it pop!  Below you can see a touch of argyle inside the card.

PTI April Blog Hop - Jessica

 It's that time of the month again, the PTI Blog Hop and this month the focus is on tissue paper.  Here is my card which uses rows of tissue paper and various bright colors to make the background.  I love the fun colors and that this card makes me smile.

To make the tissue paper airy, I rolled the scallops around the handle of a small paint brush and note that I used the scallop die on the bottom of the card  to sync with the first row of tissue paper.  I also rounded the bottom on the back of the card to align with the front.

Compose a Card Challenge #8--Monica's Card

Hi all,
I created a card to play along with Becky's Compose a Card Challenge #8.  I went with her black, white, and green option.  Here it is...

The card uses the following papers:  PTI's truly black and white; PP white with black stripe is from Me and My Big Ideas Padx-10 Black and White Butterfly and the black with white dots is DCWV's La Creme.  The swirls (on the front and on the inside) are from my stash and stamped in PTI's new leaf.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Truly Appreciated (stamped in VersaMark and white embossed).  The flowers were cut with PTI's flower dies that go with their Beautiful Blooms II stamps and adorned with jewels from my stash.  The card is finished off with PTI's mini dot ribbon in new leaf and black buttons.

The card came together easier than I thought and I  really love the color combination--much more than I thought I would.  Hope you enjoy!  Stop by again soon...

Compose a Card Challenge #8

Hi all,

I'm playing along with Becky's latest Compose a Card Challenge.  I really took her comment "So I left the rules LOOSE this time!" to heart and interpreted the card my way.

I took my inspiration from the Brown dress option:

I stamped the card base with a stamp from my stash that was inspired by the brown and white circles but after getting them on the card it made me think of a ring left by a coffee cup and I ran with that idea.  This lead me to the ledger paper and the coffee theme stamp set.  A button was need and a little ribbon to so I added them too.

With the card being in dark brown I added more ledger paper to the inside to provide a place for a note and I thought another coffee ring would finish it off perfectly.

W Plus Nine Color Cue 2 Challenge

Hi, I'm back with a post for W Plus Nine's Color Cue 2 Challenge.  I love their color picks and it was great fun to use some new stamps.  Here you go...

I used Nestie Friendly stamps from The Waltzing Mouse (affectionately referred to as Waltzing Matilda (WM) in my household)--used both the Vintage Circle Small set and the Faux Fun Circles set.  The focal image and the sentiment (from my stash) were stamped in VersaMark and white embossed.  The card base is stamped in coordinating small flowers from both sets in VersaMark.

See the close up of the focal image and the inside of the card which I embellished with complimentary stamp from Faux Fun Circles in PTI's raspberry fizz ink  I finished the card off with PTI's satin ribbon in ocean's tide and a raspberry fizz button.
